Anne Teachworth, the founding Director in 1976 of The Gestalt Institute of New Orleans, described her breakthrough theories and methods of radical relationship improvement, which she called “The Psychogenetic System”. Her book "Why We Pick the Mates We Do" has helped many couples to gain new insight into their relationship patterns. As a practicing couples counselor for decades, Anne realized that a couple's relationship patterns often mimic the patterns of their parents' relationship with each other. Her theories describe how a great part of our mating attraction instinct emanates from our unconscious habit to mimic the relationship patterns that our parents used with each other as a couple during our childhood.  Anne’s son, Jeff Teachworth, is also certified in Gestalt Therapy as well as being certified as a Life Coach and as a Relationship Coach. Jeff trained extensively with Anne and other experts over decades. He is highly proficient in this process and available by appointment.
